One European fuel-cell platform, four countries

Forking Future Oy leads a consortium of independent fuel-cell companies in Finland, France, Norway and the Netherlands. We own the technology platform and the brand, finance and replicate production, and bring hydrogen power to drones, light mobility and backup power, with the whole hydrogen ecosystem around it.

Our path

From a Finnish advisory firm to a European hydrogen consortium

Forking Future started in 2024 as an innovation and funding advisory in Lehmo, Finland. In 2026 it became the lead company of a fuel-cell consortium when the technology, patents, trademarks and team of Pragma Industries, the French fuel-cell pioneer founded in 2004, joined the group. The path continues: Finnish production in 2027, Nordic and Dutch sales channels, and an AI business line for the physical economy.

  1. 2024

    Forking Future Oy founded

Innovation, data and EU-funding advisory in Lehmo, Finland. Strategic foresight for SMEs and the green transition.

  2. 2026

    The fuel-cell track opens

Pragma Industries’ technology, patents and team join the consortium. Unconventional Energy SAS is founded in Bayonne, France, and takes over product development, first production and customer support.

  3. 2026

    Brands and AI line

The Unconventional Energy brand is launched for the whole consortium. AI4Matter starts as Forking Future’s AI business line: intelligence that meets matter.

  4. 2027

    Production replicated in Finland

Stack production in Varkaus, production and industrialisation in Jyväskylä, MILA test and application centre in Imatra. Gen 7–8 cells. Sales and application engineering in Norway and the Netherlands.

Light PEM fuel cells: stacks, systems and the hydrogen ecosystem

Our customers are drone manufacturers, micro- and light-mobility OEMs and users of backup power. The consortium supplies stacks and systems to equipment manufacturers and does not compete with them with drones or vehicles of its own. Around the power source we deliver the whole hydrogen ecosystem: local hydrogen production and storage, the fuel-cell power unit, integration and testing, and the approvals the application needs.

01

PEM cells and stacks

Cell chemistry and stack design from Bayonne. Open-cathode, air-cooled; Gen 5 in production, Gen 7–8 in development.

02

Power systems from 1 kW upwards

Modular design, no upper power limit. Single stacks 500 W to 4.8 kW, hybridised with supercapacitors and batteries.

03

Field backup power

Silent, rugged and transportable fuel-cell gensets. Military and civil customers in Europe.

04

Light mobility

Hydrogen bicycles, developed and built in France by Pragma Industries since 2017.

05

Local hydrogen production

Production and storage stations sized for the application.

06

Integration, testing and approvals

We fit the fuel cell into your platform and carry it through test campaigns, safety audits and certification. Certified hydrogen-safety competence in-house.

Dual-use ready. Products designed and manufactured in the EU with no critical components sourced from outside the EU: a precondition for MIL and NATO supply chains.

A small core team, a wide network of professionals
